Kibaya Youth Development Savings and Credit Society Limited was formed in 2004 and registered under the Cooperative Statute in 2004 with the registration Certificate number 6966 on 17th February 2004.
A group of people in Nyakayojo Division and the surrounding areas were marginalized in various aspects of life yet they had the potential to improve their livelihoods if empowered socially and economically. The team consequently pulled together various resources to improve their livelihood. This group comprised of subsistence farmers who were producing for home consumption and very little could be sold off to generate income that could not satisfy their need by that time, this called for collective mobilization and pulling of resources to improve their levels of food supply and incomes. In the year 2001, their dream came true and they kept on welcoming new members to be part of them and since then, the Cooperative Society has been steadily growing.
As at 31st October 2022, the SACCO had 3,900 members, Savings of shs 1,600,786,633, share capital of shs 616,936,900 and Loan portfolio of shs 2,385,099,298
